What is Claudeforce? A guide to the Salesforce and Claude integration
What the partnership covers, how it works underneath, and what your Salesforce org needs in place before you pilot it.
Claudeforce is the name given to the expanded collaboration between Salesforce and Anthropic, announced on 26 August 2026. The aim is to combine the reasoning capability of Anthropic’s Claude model with the customer data, workflows and permission rules already in Salesforce. In practice, sales teams can read, update and act on CRM data by asking Claude rather than navigating screens.

Is Claudeforce a single product?
No. Claudeforce is not one licence or one product. It is a collaboration framework in which each company’s products are embedded in the other’s. There are three components.

1. Salesforce in Claude
A Salesforce extension built for Claude, shipping with 37 ready-made sales skills. Examples include:
- Meeting preparation
- Deal health analysis
- Pipeline review
On setup, the extension reads the user’s working context from Salesforce, Slack and other connected systems, and builds dashboards personalised to them that run on live data. Because every action Claude takes is executed through Salesforce, existing business rules continue to apply.
2. Claude in Salesforce (Agentforce)
Claude also goes deeper inside Salesforce itself:
- It becomes the reasoning model for the Atlas Reasoning Engine
- It becomes the default model in Agentforce Vibes and Agentforce Coworker
- It is selectable in Agent Builder
For regulated industries, Claude runs through Amazon Bedrock inside the Salesforce Trust Boundary, so data does not leave Salesforce’s security perimeter.
3. Claude in Slack
Claude becomes the default AI model in Slack as well. Slackbot, Claude Tag and Slack Code all run on this infrastructure, which lets teams carry out permitted Salesforce actions without leaving Slack.
How does Claudeforce work?
The foundation is Headless 360, announced by Salesforce in March 2026. Headless 360 consists of APIs, MCP (Model Context Protocol) servers and command-line tools that let AI agents reach Salesforce data and workflows without needing the interface.
- Permissions are preserved. Claude operates with the permissions the user already holds in Salesforce. A record the user cannot see is not visible through Claude either.
- Single point of setup. No per-user configuration. An administrator establishes the connection and authentication is managed centrally.
- Automations still fire. Record updates made by Claude run validation rules, Flows and Apex triggers exactly as a normal transaction would.
What it means for companies
- Sales teams: the morning pipeline check becomes one question instead of dozens of screens.
- Managers: pipeline reviews and pre-meeting summaries are produced in minutes.
- IT and Salesforce teams: the permission model and data quality matter more than before, because agents can reach everything the user is entitled to reach.
Availability and pricing
- Status (September 2026): the Salesforce in Claude extension began with pilot customers, and Salesforce announced an open beta for September 2026. New skills for service, marketing and commerce are expected towards the end of 2026.
- Price: no list price has been published. The model has two parts — consumption-based charging on the Salesforce side (API usage) and a separate agreement with Anthropic for Claude usage.
How to prepare for Claudeforce
- Review your permissions. Overly broad access in Profiles and Permission Sets becomes a genuine risk once agents are in use.
- Start read-only. Run the pilot with read access only, with a small team.
- Fix data quality. Missing or duplicated records directly degrade what the AI produces.
- Test your automations. Confirm Flows and triggers behave correctly on agent-driven updates.
- Measure consumption. Track the pilot group’s usage cost before opening it to the whole company.
The first point deserves emphasis. Permission models that were merely untidy become materially risky when an agent can act on everything a user is entitled to. Auditing them is the single most useful thing to do before a pilot.

No. There is consumption-based charging on the Salesforce side, and Claude usage requires a separate agreement with Anthropic.
